Hartford Circus Fire Presentation

July 18 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Christina Rewinski, a Museum Educator at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History for a presentation on the Hartford Circus Fire. She develops and teaches educational programs for school and adult

audiences. Christina has formerly worked at a number of Connecticut museums andholds a B.A. in English from Skidmore College and an M.A. in Museum Education fromTufts University.

In 1944, one of the worst fire disasters in American history occurred in Hartford. The circus fire has lived in the memories of survivors and the imaginations of Connecticans ever since. In this presentation, photos and artifacts from the Connecticut Museum’s collection will help tell the stories of that day. The presentation will examine the ways in which Connecticans have continued to identify, honor, and bring justice to the victims in the intervening decades.
