Issues & Ideas – The Harlem Renaissance

We’ll meet to discuss the Harlem Renaissance and its impact on American culture. To prepare for the discussion you may want to read “Jazz” by Toni Morrison. Copies will be available to borrow from the Library.
Other books available include “Their Eyes Were Watching God” by Zora Neale Hurston and “Passing” by Nella Larsen.
Guest Lecturer: Dr. Sean Cashbaugh will give a short introduction on the influences that inspired the Harlem Renaissance’s artists and musicians via Zoom. Dr. Cashbaugh has a PhD from the University of Texas and currently teaches English at Princeton University.
The group will meet in-person inside the Library.
