POSTPONED: Voices from the Past: Capturing Oral Histories

October 29, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED to Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00pm.

Oral history is a sound recording of historical information, obtained through an interview that preserves a person’s life history or eyewitness account of a past experience.  Oral histories can preserve the voices of your loved ones, family and community.  They can gather diverse experiences and shed light on how day-to-day experiences have changed over time.

Local resident Erin King will share information on what to consider when preparing and conducting an interview of a family member or friend, as well as handouts to help participants complete their own interviews.  Library staff will provide an overview of recording equipment and software available in the Library Makerspace or for circulation.

We are grateful for the generous support of the Terryville Public Library Board of Trustees in our Makerspace.
