Computers for Public Use

The library has twelve workstations available for patrons to use to access the Internet, one of which is located in the Children’s Department. We also have one computer dedicated to reference work only.  All of our public computers have Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Wireless Internet

The Terryville Public Library offers free wireless internet access to patrons with wireless-enabled laptop computers or handheld devices.  Visitors do not need to have a library card to use the wifi.

Princh – A mobile/wireless printing solution lets you to “print from anywhere”

Mobile WiFi Hotspots – Borrow a hotspot to get internet at home or on the go!

Chromebooks – Borrow a Chromebook for visiting websites, watching videos, checking email, and utilizing Google docs.

Northstar Digital Literacy – Northstar Digital Literacy defines basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Online, self-guided modules assess the ability of individuals to perform tasks based on these skills. Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in three main areas:

  • Essential Computer Skills – Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows OS, Mac OS
  • Essential Software Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs
  • Using Technology in Daily Life – Social Media, Information Literacy, Career Search Skills, Accessing Telehealth Appointments, Supporting K-12 Distance Learning, Your Digital Footprint.
