Nutmeg Book Club (Ages 8-12)

The Nutmeg Book Club is a book club for children ages 8-12. We will aim to read and discuss as many of the 2024 Nutmeg Book Award Intermediate Nominees as we can, before voting in April of 2024 ends. The Nutmeg Book Award winners are chosen by the youth of Connecticut. Students have until April of 2024 to read the nominees and then vote on their favorite.

During book club we will, eat snacks, discuss what we read, and complete fun activities! We will be reading American as Paneer Pie
by Supriya Kelkar this month. Registration is required at TBD

About the book: Lehka, a Desi girl, gets bullied a lot at school. She finds herself feeling alone and doesn’t know how to do anything about it. But then, another Desi girl comes to town and shows Lehka how to stand up for herself!

Do you love to read graphic novels? In Graphic Novel Book Club you get to read a new graphic novel each month. This month we will be reading Allergic by Megan Wagner Lloyd and Michelle Mee Nutter. Join us to have a snack, discuss the book, and do some activities.
