Make it Monday: Bubble Extravaganza (Ages 4-12)

Every Monday during the summer reading program (June 17 through August 12) there will be something to make! All materials are provided. This week is for children ages 4-12 and we will be making so many bubbles! Create a variety of bubble wants and spend time with your new creations! This event is planned to be outside. We will meet in the overflow parking lot behind the library off of Prospect St. In case of inclement weather, we will move indoors.

Every Monday during the summer reading program (June 17 through August 12) there will be something to make! All materials are provided. This week is for children ages 4-12 and we will be making a paper flower crown! Join us to make a super simple and adorable flower crown out of paper.

Book Cover BINGO (Ages 4 and up)

Come play a few rounds of BINGO where the squares are book covers! Small prizes provided. This event is for children ages 4 and up with their families.

Make it Monday: Shaving Cream Art (Ages 4-12)

Every Monday during the summer reading program (June 17 through August 12) there will be something to make! All materials are provided. This week is for children ages 4-12 and we will be making shaving cream art! Learn how to make art using paint and shaving cream.

Wild Wednesday: Duct Tape Notebooks (Ages 6-12)

Every Wednesday Afternoon during the Summer Reading Program (June 26 through August 14) there will be something fun to do! This event is for ages 6-12. This week we are decorating notebooks with colored and patterned duct and washi tapes!

Intro to Rocketry with CATO Rockets (Entering Grades 3-12)

Over the course of this three sessions event participants will learn about, build and launch their own rocket. You must be able to commit to all three days: Tuesday, August 6 – 3:30 – 5pm, Thursday, August 8 – 3:30 – 5pm and Launch Day – Tuesday, August 13 (raindate Thursday, August 15) – 3:30 – 5pm. The launch will be off-site at the Terryville Lions Fairgrounds.  This event is for children and teens entering grade 3-12.

The rocket launch has a rain date of Thursday, August 15 at 3:30pm.

This program is presented in partnership with CATO Rockets.  We’re grateful to the Terryville Lions Club for letting us use the Fairgrounds for the launch.

Fossils (Ages 4-8)

Join the Imagine Nation here at the Terryville Library to learn about fossils! Participants will learn how fossils are created, how they help scientists to learn what life was like back in prehistoric times, and they will create their own mold fossil with items brought in to make them.

Tech Tuesday: LEGO Robotics Underwater Quest (Ages 9-12

Every Tuesday during the Summer Reading Program (June 18 through August 13) there will be a technology event! This week is for ages 9-12. Join us to complete the Underwater Quest challenge with the LEGO Education Spike Essential kit. We will build and code our LEGO creations.

Make it Monday: Learn to Sew Finger Puppets (Ages 8-12)

Every Monday during the summer reading program (June 17 through August 12) there will be something to make! All materials are provided. This week is for children ages 8-12 and we will be making Finger Puppets! Learn to sew finger puppets using simple stitches and upcycled fabric scraps!

Tech Tuesday: Code with Ozobots (Ages 5-12)

Every Tuesday during the Summer Reading Program (June 18 through August 13) there will be a technology event! This week is for ages 5-12. This week we will be coding with Ozobots. Ozobots are small robots that lights up, move and make noises. Join us to learn about these robots and the different ways you can code them.
