Heart Healthy Virtual Cooking Class

Join registered dietician, Carla, from Food Explorers LLC for a virtual heart healthy cooking class, all from the comfort of your own home!  Learn how to make two quick and easy heart healthy recipes and get your nutrition questions answered. You will be making Kale And Avocado Salad with Roasted Carrots and Avocado Banana Overnight Oats.
You will need the following ingredients at the time of the class: 2-3 ripe avocados, baby carrots, olive oil, 1 can chickpeas, 1 bunch fresh kale, 1 lemon, 1 banana, orange juice (or milk), old fashioned oats, milk and optional ingredients such as walnuts, fresh berries and cinnamon.

The Valentine’s Day Music, Dance and Comedy Show (Virtual on Zoom, and Livestreamed in person, All ages)

“All You Need Is Love!” The Valentine’s Day Music, Dance and Comedy Show is a charming “turtle-riffic” musical experience that is designed to engage children through songs about love, movement activities, children’s stories, and interactive music technology! The show is crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the Autism Spectrum, and a great time for parents and caregivers! Each song in the 30-minute show is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time.

Sashiko: Love it, Mend it (Virtual)

Join us virtually to learn the Japanese art of visible mending known as Sashiko. Local instructor Dawn Zillich, The Stitching Coach, will guide patrons step-by-step in applying hand embroidery.

Each participant will receive a Take and Make kit with fabric, sashiko thread, a sashiko needle, and more.  These materials, and the Zoom link, will be made available in the week before the program.  Whether you have sewn for ages or a beginner who wants to learn, celebrate this time-honored tradition at your local library.

A Virtual Noon Years Eve Celebration!

“Start spreading the news!” We are celebrating the new year with a special Winter-Wonderland Music, Bubble and Comedy Show: A Noon Years Eve Celebration! The show will engage families with winter songs, New Years Songs, movement activities, big giant bubbles, children’s stories, and interactive music technology! At the end of the show we will have a special sing along to ring in the new year so bring your noisemakers! The show is crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the Autism Spectrum, and a great time for parents and caregivers! Each song in the 30-minute virtual show is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time. This program is for all ages!
